package javafx.beans.property;

import javafx.beans.binding.Bindings;
import javafx.beans.value.ObservableValue;
import javafx.beans.value.WritableStringValue;
import javafx.util.StringConverter;

import java.text.Format;

This class provides a full implementation of a Property wrapping a String value. The value of a StringProperty can be get and set with WritableObjectValue<String>.get(), StringExpression.getValue(), WritableObjectValue<String>.set(String), and setValue(String). A property can be bound and unbound unidirectional with Property<String>.bind(ObservableValue<? extends String>) and Property<String>.unbind(). Bidirectional bindings can be created and removed with bindBidirectional(Property<String>) and unbindBidirectional(Property<String>). The context of a StringProperty can be read with ReadOnlyProperty<String>.getBean() and ReadOnlyProperty<String>.getName().

@Override public void bindBidirectional(Property<String> other) { Bindings.bindBidirectional(this, other); }
Create a bidirectional binding between this StringProperty and another arbitrary property. Relies on an implementation of Format for conversion.
Params:
  • other – the other Property
  • format – the Format used to convert between this StringProperty and the other Property
Throws:

Create a bidirectional binding between this StringProperty and another arbitrary property. Relies on an implementation of StringConverter for conversion.
Params:
  • other – the other Property
  • converter – the StringConverter used to convert between this StringProperty and the other Property
Type parameters:
  • <T> – the type of the wrapped Object
